"When I was fourteen years old I had a pair of orange Vision Psycho Stick shorts that I wore everyday. I remember meeting a girl who was 24 years old who knew people who worked in Vision's art department. She told me about the guy who did the Psycho Stick and how he looked exactly like the guy on the board because it was a self-portrait. I was fascinated and lost my virginity to her". ED TEMPLETON
The truth...
"The Psycho Stick was another slap-bang-dash piece. When I finished the Mark Gonzales board they showed me the blank template for the Psycho Stick. This obliquely shaped piece of wood held high in the air and cradled in artificial purple velvet, revered like the Holy Grail: the deck of all the decks, the Buddha of board-dom. I went home with "Psycho Stick" ringing on my ears, and looked around my desk for something suitable. There was a photo a friend had taken from another friend, and I scrawled on some swirly eyeballs, more markers, scotch tape and BOOM! - Psycho Stick". ANDY TAKAKJIAN
